Sculptra® is a unique injectable that stimulates the skin’s own natural collagen production to gradually but noticeably restore facial volume, minimizing the appearance of folds and wrinkles.
The active ingredient in Sculptra® is poly-L-lactic acid, which is in the alpha-hydroxy-acid family. The results with Sculptra are longer lasting than typical hyaluronic acid fillers because the skin is essentially volumizing itself through the production of collagen. Patients will typically undergo 3 injection sessions over the course of 3 to 4 months, with results lasting up to 2 years.
Sculptra® is intended for treatment of the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, chin wrinkles, and other facial wrinkles where a cross-hatch injection technique is appropriate.
The most common side effects include redness, pain, swelling, bleeding, bruising, itching, and lumps of varying size that may be noticeable with pressing on the treated area.
Treatment should be provided by experienced practitioners trained in its injection. At Eterna, our nurse injectors are highly experienced in injecting Sculptra. We invite you to schedule a complementary consultation with our nurse injector to see if Sculptra® is right for you.
